Cast on a number of stitches multiple of 10 + 1.

Row 1:  purl all sts.

Row 2: knit all sts.

Row 3: * k1, yo, k3, sl1-k2tog-psso, k3, yo * ending the row with k1.

Row 4:  purl all sts.

Row 5: * k2, yo, k2, sl1-k2tog-psso, k2, yo, k1 * ending the row with k1.

Row 6:  purl all sts.

Row 7: * k3, yo, k1, sl1-k2tog-psso, k1, yo, k2 * ending the row with k1.

Row 8: purl all sts.

Row 9: * k4, yo, purl all sts., yo, k3 * ending the row with k1.

Row 10: purl all sts.

sl1-k2tog-psso: slip 1, knit 2 together and pass the slip stitch over.
